This just brings tears to my eyes to see popular artists in 2010, put down the bling for a few minutes to come together in the same spirit that Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie did in 1985. This video features: Mylie Cyrus, Barbara Streisand, Gladys Knight, Jamie Foxx, Adam Levine, Mary J. Blige, Kanye, Pink, Bebe Winans, Usher, Lil Wayne, Toni Braxton, Mary Mary, and countless others, plus original footage including MJ and his sister Janet. I especially like the hip hop twist at the end featuring LLCoolJ, will.i.am, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and others.
And the most touching addition is Wyclef Jean’s solo, singing for his native country of Haiti in his native language. It’s so very moving. And you can give at www.world25.org or text “WORLD” to 50555 in your cell phone.
It’s absolutely beautiful, I’m crying as I write this post through the tears. I hope this will encourage future projects in the same caliber of giving. Recording artists, athletes, and actors have so much power and influence. I hope they continue to take the lead to continue this awesome movement.
