Okay, this is an attempt to distribute some fun event/activity ideas for the 30 and over crowd that might be viewed as “mature” events. So below, please find some FREE and some NOT SO FREE events for those of you in the DC/MD/VA area. (Although, I don’t know how “mature” I will behave at a wine event!):
This Friday will be the first of three FREE concerts sponsored by the Washington Post at Carter Barron. The shows start at 8:30pm with FREE tickets distributed at 8:30 am from the Washington Post office on 1150 15th street NW or at noon from Carter Barron 202-334-4748.
6/16 Latin Night
6/23 Reggae Night
6/30 Soul of the City Night
Again, you can pick up four FREE tickets per person the day of the show. I am thinking about trying to go to the Reggae Night and the Soul Night.
Next event:
6/24 and 6/25 Washington International Wine & Food Festival 1 to 5 pm at the Omni Shoreham Hotel next to the National Zoo off of the red line metro.
www.dcwinefestival.com
If you purchase your ticket online prior to 6/16 you can get your ticket for $51 (use promo code “WASHPOST”)
There will be 280 wineries pouring 1200 wines, do the math. If you are interested in meeting up at the event or prior to, email me on the Friday before at ktibbs73@gmail.com
Thanks to Randy Phillips for this valuable information (I met him through the Urban League – Thursday Network)
