Renaissance44 is an effort to begin a dialogue, through writing and literary events, and a movement through politics, race, business, family, education, music and art, community, and social justice issues among people of color who are 30 and over. We still have so much work to do and it is our job to keep the movement alive.

Renaissance44 will offer the following types of events:

• Networking Events For Authors
  
• Literary Events
  

We have such a diverse venue by which to connect with each other and share ideas that includes social networks, publishing and blogging, conferences, business networking and partnerships, websites, grassroots activism, and the list goes on .   The goal is to bring people together both online and, eventually, a national conference, and to create a foundation, whose funds will be used for scholarships, fundraising, and funding for community projects.

Renaissance44  is inspired by the concepts of the W.E.B. Dubois’ Talented Tenth, The Harlem Renaissance, The Civil Rights Movement, The Womanist Movement, The Black Arts Movement, The Million Man/Woman’s March, and of course, the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, who encouraged the entire world to make, create, and embrace CHANGE.  Be The Change.
